Sharp TM100 is announced in 2004

Design

Although it measures a distinctly petite 100 x 49 x 21 mm, and weighs 105 g, the Sharp TM100 looks even bigger although than it is the sliding design it adopts.The incredible 262,144 colors display is so bright and colorful, and provide more real colors of pictures and 3D images.The display resolution 320 x 240 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Sharp handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.

Ergonomics

The TM100 is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Sharp handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, giving it a cheap feel while oddly designed buttons, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial.And last,but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

In the WAN department, the TM100 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 2.0, 40-channels polyphony, voice commands, a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book.

As previously mentioned, the TM100 is also equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera support for picture-taking and when it comes to storage the TM100 offers 5 MB which is dynamically shared between images and J2ME applications.

Performance

Audio quality on the TM100 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 700 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4 hours talk time or 150 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 105 minutes.

Availability

The Sharp TM100 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Sharp TM100 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Sharp design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.
