Nokia 3530 is announced in 2003
Design
The latter quickly became immensely popular and also the manufacturer's flagship, but with the advent of the 3530, Nokia has finally entrenched itself as an important player in the market for experienced users, the Nokia 3530 is slender and not very compact handset at 118 x 50 x 17 mm and 106 grams. The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Nokia models. The display resolution 96 x 65 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button. Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the 3530's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Nokia handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.
Ergonomics
The 3530 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Nokia handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. Its keypad is as pleasing in use as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering 3530's knack for quirky keypads. And last, but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
Features
Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Nokia 3530 has to offer: there's also support for HSCSD, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Java MIDP 1.0, 16-channels polyphony, FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of HSCSD support gives more speed when you browse with your mobile browser, and spacious phone book.
As previously mentioned, the 3530 is also equipped with a 0.1 megapixel camera support for picture-taking .
Performance
Audio quality on the 3530 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 950 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4.3 hours talk time or 312 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 142 minutes.
Availability
The Nokia 3530 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Nokia 3530 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Nokia design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws. |
