Design
Having gained fresh wind in its sails over the course of the past year or so, Nokia has certainly made its mark on phone sale hit lists recently, the Nokia 3220 is a very slender and compact handset at 104 x 44 x 18 mm and 86 grams. The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual.The display resolution 128 x 128 pixel which is standart resolution for more mobile phones.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Nokia handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The 3220 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Nokia handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Nokia 3220 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last,but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

In the WAN department, the 3220 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as HSCSD, GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 2.0, voice commands, FAX/Modem, Loud Speaker, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, HSCSD support gives more speed when you browse with your mobile browser,and spacious phone book.

Performance
Audio quality on the 3220 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 760 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3.5 hours talk time or 250 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 114 minutes.

The Nokia 3220 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Nokia's 3220 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Nokia. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
