Nokia 3200 is announced in 2003

Design

The classic style of Nokia design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 90 g and measuring 107 x 45 x 20 mm, the 3200 is petite and relatively lightweight. The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Nokia models. The display resolution 128 x 128 pixel which is standart resolution for more mobile phones.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the 3200's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Nokia handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The 3200 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Nokia handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Nokia 3200 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

In the WAN department, the 3200 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as HSCSD, GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Java MIDP 1.0, 16-channels polyphony, a voice recorder, FAX/Modem, Loud Speaker, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, HSCSD support gives more speed when you browse with your mobile browser, and spacious phone book.

As previously mentioned, the 3200 is also equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera support for picture-taking . The phone incidentally also offers up an integrated FM radio.

Performance

Audio quality on the 3200 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 780 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4 hours talk time or 288 hours standby, which is very good for battery's theoretical capacity.Charge time is about 117 minutes.

Availability

The Nokia 3200 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Nokia's 3200 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Nokia. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable.
