Design
Having gained fresh wind in its sails over the course of the past year or so, Nokia has certainly made its mark on phone sale hit lists recently, the Nokia 2100 is a very slender and compact handset at 105 x 44 x 77 mm and 85 grams. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages.The display resolution 96 x 65 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the 2100's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Nokia handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.
Ergonomics
The 2100 lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Nokia handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Nokia 2100 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last,but not least, a simple two-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Nokia 2100 has to offer: there's also support for SMS, and a range of applications such as all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the 2100 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 750 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 3.2 hours talk time or 150 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 112 minutes.

Nokia's 2100 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Nokia. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
