Design
The A630 is an incredible looking handset, totally unique and, in our spot poll, a real object of lust for both sexes of all ages. Weighing in at 100 grams and measuring 99 x 45 x 23 mm, it's compact, while not featherweight. It's shorter and narrower than one would expect, and thicker, too, thanks to the unique design. The 16 bit - color display which is a little milky, dim and uneven, as well as having lower resolution than usual.The display resolution 176 x 220 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Motorola handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.
Ergonomics
The A630 lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Motorola handsets.The plastic keypad has good placed keys, giving it a cheap feel while oddly designed buttons, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.The most notable trait of the A630 is of course the way in which it expands from an ordinary mobile phone with a numeric keypad to a fully fledged messaging device with a QWERTY keyboard.

As previously mentioned, the A630 is also equipped with a 0.3 megapixel camera support for picture-taking and when it comes to storage the A630 offers 5 MB which is dynamically shared between images and J2ME applications. The A630 also comes with an Secure Digital (SD) and expansion slot located under its battery,a 16-128 MB card comes bundled in the sales package, more space for images audio and video files, less time for PC and communication cable for updating internal memory,
Performance
Audio quality on the A630 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 850 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 5 hours talk time or 200 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 127 minutes.

The Motorola A630 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Motorola A630 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Motorola design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws. |
