 Maxon MX-7920 is announced in 2002
Design
The Maxon MX-7920 is a compact clamshell phone. Measures 65 x 37 x 22 mm in size and weighing 65 grams, it is light and feels very slender despite its size.A secound 64 x 20 pixel, 2 display dominates the front cover, and although not the clearest external display we've seen it is still quite functional.The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages.The display resolution 96 x 96 pixel is not very high but is normal for small phone like this.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the MX-7920's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Maxon handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.
Ergonomics
The MX-7920 lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Maxon handsets.The plastic keypad has very limited key travel and jiggles independently of the phone, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.And last,but not least, a four-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Maxon MX-7920 has to offer: there's also support for GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the MX-7920 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 600 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 5 hours talk time or 250 hours standby, which is very good for battery's theoretical capacity.Charge time is about 90 minutes.
Availability
The Maxon MX-7920 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Maxon's MX-7920 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Maxon. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
