Maxon MX-7812 is announced in 2002
Design
The classic style of Maxon design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 90 g and measuring 108 x 47 x 19 mm, the MX-7812 is petite and relatively lightweight. The black and white display is ideal for text, messages and simple pictures like logos and picture massages. The display resolution 96 x 96 pixel is not very high but is normal for low class phone.
The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker. Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the MX-7812's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Maxon handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.
Ergonomics
The MX-7812 is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Maxon handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Maxon MX-7812 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a four-way navigation buttons centered below the display.
Features
Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Maxon MX-7812 has to offer: there's also support for GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , FAX/Modem, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, and spacious phone book..
Performance
Audio quality on the MX-7812 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 650 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4 hours talk time or 250 hours standby, which is very good for battery's theoretical capacity.Charge time is about 97 minutes.
Availability
The Maxon MX-7812 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.
Conclusion
Maxon's MX-7812 is yet another model in a range of phones from experienced users from Maxon. A new compact design and a reduced sized battery - which avoids rendering a negative impact on battery life - ensures a thin and light phone which is ergonomically comfortable. |
