Curitel HX-525B is announced in 2003

Design

Heavily influenced by classic Curitel design in areas of shape, colour and design, weighing in at 95 g and measuring 109 x 47 x 20 mm, the HX-525B is petite and relatively lightweight. The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Curitel models. The display resolution 128 x 128 pixel which is standart resolution for more mobile phones.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker.
Lacking LEDs of any kind, however, the display - combined with vibration and audible alerts - is the HX-525B's only way of notifying users of new messages and missed calls. This is common for all Curitel handsets, requiring users to inconveniently have to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting rather than just glance at it.

Ergonomics

The HX-525B is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Curitel handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Curitel HX-525B emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjacent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

Dual band 900/1800 MHz connectivity isn't all the Curitel HX-525B has to offer: there's also support for SMS, and a range of applications such as 16-channels polyphony, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of and spacious phone book..

Performance

Audio quality on the HX-525B was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 950 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 4 hours talk time or 150 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 142 minutes.

Availability

The Curitel HX-525B is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Curitel HX-525B is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Curitel design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.
